NEFERTITI model: first stars & supernovae

Our paper “The energy distribution of the first supernovae” written by 6 women (!) Ioanna Koutsouridou, Stefania Salvadori, Asa Skuladottir, Martina Rossi, Irene Vanni and Giulia Pagnini has been published. This state-of-the-art model to limit the first stars’ properties is following the formation and evolution of a Milky Way analogue starting frrom the first star formation episodes and including the unknown mass and energy distribution of the first stars and first supernovae. For the first time, we show that there is a degeneracy between these two functions. Still, by exploiting the fraction of C-enhanced metal-poor stars we are able to set a limit for the characteristic mass of the first stars, mch < 100 Msun.
